  • Summer Garden - Plant model showcase

I had to do a series of custom plant assets recently. The following renders are not from the job in question but from a scene I put together quickly using old building models of mine to showcase the meshes. The plants were done the hard, old-school way, with polymodelling and a helping hand from the Advanced Painter script. Nothing special to these except a great deal of patience. One exception is the tree, which was made with Onyx. The scenes make liberal use of Vray’s Environmental Fog (with Sun+Sky). The hovering pollen was made in P-Flow. At the risk of appearing to shamelessly plug my own stuff, let me just mention the models are available at my good friend Phrosty’s store.

very nice pics, my only complain are the stones, are you using BRIX for textures?

    all the best,
    Pedro

Thanks Pedro. Yes, the stone slabs are a bit rough.
I didn't use Brix on this one (I didn't have it at the time), each of the buildings is just one giant texture map applied over relatively simple geometry (the map was made by stitching together about a dozen photos of a building).

Great images/mood. Ive seen them before in the TurboSquid i think.
The p flow and env fog really gives weight and presence to the old building making the render look like a real photo.

Must agree with the stones too. Deformation looks a bit over the top. But that´s just a tiny detail.

Congratz and keep up the outstanding work!

Very nice! A very unique look.

Could you briefly describe how you configured the fog? I.E. Color, density, height, etc?

Thanks for the kind feedback, guys. I don't have access to the scene at this time but I'll post the fog settings asap.

Thanks Oligo. They have strange licensing system. If it's a "material" plug-in, how come it offers render nodes licenses? Also, that should be only for people using network rendeing with vray, or Backburner?
