      Thats quick... but you got a dual system right ??? i'll check those settings on my system...

      does anybody else tested it on somthing like mine ( P4-2.4GHZ 1gig )

      personally i thick the orignal post of this scene is great and has a nice light all around... better then this quick one... BUT for a good preview before a final render this is amazing... thats what we all want isn't it ???

      i'll post my results next

      Regards,
      Bakbek

                Now you see why local settings for everything would be great? Who needs acurate GI on a grass lawn? But If you have other stuff in your scene instead of a lawn and grass sheep, you have to set parameters to higher quality, so rendertimes go crazy.

                Local AA and irradiance settings (hspsubdivs and min max locals) would make a huge difference in every outdoor or indoor architectural scene (especially if displacement is used, for example grass, bricks, tiles etc...).

                  I must agree with you Flipside... it gives u more flexiable control over a scene.

                    Now its 3.17 which is nice.

                    I guess now what we need is explanation about the optimization.

                      straight out of the box on a 2.2ghz 512 p4m laptop 1hour 27 mins...so i dont think your p2.4 is doing that badly

                        Using Natty's settings on a P4 1.9GHz 640mb: 5m 50.3s

                        @bakbek:
                        Check out your computer, slower processor and less ram, and I outperform you by 9s, something is definately up with your machine.

                          Hi all... ( It's Bakbek - loged on with my friends account )

                          I've tested the optimized scene on a similar system to mine ( only differance is the mother board: intel not matrox like mine and less RAM only 512MB) and it took 3m56s - 2 MIN LESS !!!! then on my computer

                          WHY ?????????????

                          where do i begin to check what's worng with my computer ???
