    Re: my test interior

Hi, You said make a small rectangular omni light inside the receptacle. this light should be visible. it will act as source light. i ussually assign a high multiplier ( between 500-1000). cones and scallops will be formed by the shape of light receptacle itself.
I dont know what is receptangle, and there is rectangular light and there is omni directional an rectangular light in SU, so i dont know what do you meant by that.
I am trying to do something really simmilar but i cant.
BTW, great renders, and keep up the good work...
    Thanks

      Re: my test interior

ok the receptacle is the word i use where you put the omni light. in su i ussually create a circle on the ceiling surface, then using push pull tool i push it inside, so that is my light receptacle.(of course i added modelling details). then i create either vray rectangular light, or omni directional light and place it inside the receptacle. this light will become the bulb ( you can make it visible too). Those lights are not using SU but using VRAY.

Nomer, do you use omni (round)light in your interior perspectives? How can that be effectively used without too much hard shadows?

            Re: my test interior

by increasing the sky multiplier, so that more outside light can penetrate inside the interior. at first i dont want to put the rectangular omni, jsut trying to penetrate the light inside, but then i was tempted to add the omni even in day time so this is the result.

              Nomer

              Looking very good.
What you need now are some accessories - flush for toilet, toilet roll holder, sockets for shaving etc.
Interesting how you are controlling the lighting - hadn't thought of that.

              Regards
              David

Fantastic work Nomer. Very good lighting and composition. It appears that you have mastered V-ray.

                      neat work nomer! really impressive..
could u share the render settings?? i seem to be having some problems with certains 'spots'.. as shown here: http://www.asgvis.com/index.php?opti...0&topic=2703.0
                      thanx

                        jenujacob,

ive read a lot of things like that. it seems to me that 1 is a result of caustic on or second, is enabling Clamp Output and Subpixel Mapping in the Color Mapping rollout,as dalomar suggested on taoklai's previous problem. http://www.asgvis.com/index.php?opti...0&topic=2664.0

settings. i ussually focus on getting the right light first. sky.. adjusting the sky parameters (the map multiplier and sun size) and render a media test using quick visopt. send me your email i will send you my quick visopt. i also use a lot of rectangular omnis for my lights having high multiplier. and finally i play alot with the physical camera and treat it like a real camera. i teach photography therefore i know how the conventional camera works. vray physical camera works the same. then once satisfy then i add the materials. (reflection, bumps and diplacement slows down rendering so its always my advise to do lighting first before creating vray map or vray linked materials or any other materials.

setting that i use: GI.. primary engine IR (-3,-1)HSph50,30sample subdivisions, LC as secondary engine ussually subd1000, samples .2. noise for QMC sampler noise ussually at .001. ISampler, addative subdivion. color mapping (HSV Exponential and clamp output on)physical camera on.

                          thanx for responding nomer..
i used the same settings but still the problem persists.. for the lights that u used in the scenes what were the sampling properties?? should we increase the subdiviosns to 12 or 24 something like that??

i did not even touch those sampling. i rely mostly on the light multiplier.

                              Re: my test interior

i decided to make a light test scene after reading the post of jenujacob to understand really how onmi lights and rectangular lights work. here in this test scene i did not use the sky map as for the past test interior but rather relied on the physical camera. i also tested further the emissive material and using another hidden rectangular light next to the screen to help distribute the light. controlling omnis on the pin lights also in this test. im still not happy with them and i hope next time vray will support ies. the corner strong light has this settings ( color rgb, 247,242,191) multiplier 400, sampling default, shadows bias 0,radius 2,subd 20..
TV.. emmisive material..intensity 350, bitmap multiplier 0.5.. rendering engine setting: primary IR. (-4,-1)hsph subd 40 samples 20, secondary engine LC (subd 1000, sample size 0.2)
