Hi there, here is the links to the scenes files, there are configured correctly, all u have to do is save the opacity map on first page and apply that bitmap on your transparence difuse.

        with point light

        with retangular light

i've tested the links and it's working fine.

          Hi,

Actually, this is really a good technique but the problem is that it will not render when enabling the physical camera!!!!

          What's the reason???

with physical camera u have to put multiply very hight, just it, nothing special.

Hi guis, the reason for posting here is to group all ies in one topic to help us. I'd like to ask to make this topic fix for all those who wants to make this kind of light.

This opacity map was created by chillrender

              The result:

I don't get it. What is IES or EIS light?

Is that a rectangular light with map?
                I'm behind about IES..

Re: New Test IES light This one works perfectly.

                  IES = Illumination Engineering Society ... EIS = ???

IES lights are basically a file that details the intensity of light for a given direction and is meant to simulate the physical light distribution of a given fixture.

We're working on adding IES support to VfSU, but in the mean time, an affect that is similar (but by no means the same) can be simulated by creating an emissive material that has an opacity map on it.

This is not a rectangular light since rectangular lights cannot be mapped (at the moment)

yeah thats the way, but u need to controll your decay to make it strong at the bigining and dont reatch the ground, sory for my english hththt
então kra vc tem que melhorar o decay, isso se faz com o shadow bias e a area da luz, pra que ela fique mais forte no começo e não apareça no chão.
Igual algumas imagens que foram postadas aqui, sem ser as minhas.
