hey guys, sorry i cannot follow ur discussions here,
dont know much really on hdri..havent tried it yet fulltime! hehe
anyways, that's really a bunch of noise out there nomer?
nah, i know you can solve that mate!
cheers to all who's into this hdri rev!
I think you pushed the hdri to far. The best type of hdri's for lightning ,is blurred type, but I don't have them. It's easy for vray to collect light information from this kind of file. The fact that you have 70 on multiplier, means that your hdri it's not good enough( all my hdri have 40-60Mb by piece).Anyway, I'm just guessing here,so look what I say: I upload my hdri file, so you can have it (and all of you guys), and do another render. Put only 10 on multiplier( like I did),but only in GI, because you don't have to brighten the background too.In background slot make it 1 or 2.If it's working, then we are good, if not, we'll see. Here it is the link for hdri: http://www.4shared.com/file/50347465...3/DH218SX.html
Nomer, can you tell us what kind of materials you planing to have in the scene, so we can make our own? I have allot of textures, so I'll try to make mine as good as I can. Or, we can help in any way?

which one mate. i think thats not mine. hehehe. i think that kgoku hdri test.
Can you upload your scene, so I can have it? It will be more easy for me to search for answers, because it's mystery in deed. It's strange, the noise it's more visible in the lighten areas....
MYSTERY RESOLVED!
Here there are your new settings : http://rapidshare.com/files/120936608/WIP_HDRI.skp.html
I change some things, but more important was the render engines, from QMC( primary) to IM,
and LC for the second. The QMC it's known as sandy results generator, but still, the most accurate. No use of his accuracy, if he give us noisy results...
Anyway, here it is your scene, with some tweaks, and sketchup shadows enabled.
if you want to reduce the noise using qmc engine, you need to use adaptive qmc in the image sampler and increased your maximum subdivision to more than32 atleast.
