    thanks or doing this,
hmm, i dunno, does putting rec lights create more noise in the scene?

    /migz
sorry migz 4 misunderstanding, the reason i turned off the vray rectangular light outside the window was because i added another rectangular light behind the camera, and since i am using the blind, most of the light has already been obstructed by this element.

Putting rectangular light will actually removed the noise, as light will bounce on those area. and amazingly rendering seems much faster.

      Re: Tutorial + WIP

ok now i want to lighten up a bit some of the dark areas. this time instead of light multiplier, i will use the physical camera.

as we know in using the real camera, there are three important we need to know; the aperture size (measured in f value), the shutters speed (how fast the shutter will open and close), the ISO how sensitive is the film(conventional) or sensor(digital) with light.

      * the lower the fstop value the bigger the aperture size, therefore more light will penetrate the camera.
      * the lower the shutter speed, the more light that will enter the camera
      * the higher the ISO the more sensitive the film/sensor with light.

in conclusion vray imitate these. therefore if you lower the Fstop value, increase the ISO, or decrease the shutter, the image will get lighter. Do the reverse of, the image will get darker.

in the rendered image below i decreased the fvalue to 7.

i rendered again another one this time with stop value of 4. I saved both LC and IR map and reloaded them. you will see the render time was just over a minute comparing with the previous one.

About the ISO value...if I may, from what I read about that,
it should be of maximum 400, because above that value, the noise will reappear.Like a real camera.

Nomer, thanks for sharing your tips and tricks. Well appreciated bro. How about sharing your bump-texture finish in a tut package like this one?

Nomeradona, what are your settings on the last scene. I´m doing some tests here(with a retangular light in the back of the camera - nice tip-) but i´m getting a washed look that i just HATE (it´s the same problem with all my renders). Any tips?

*I´m in work now, i´ll post the image soon as i can.

                Cheers!

                      Re: Tutorial + WIP

finally, becuase of satisfied with lighting, i rendered without overriding the materials. at the moment materials are still pretty raw. after this i will attempt on doing the vray materials.

this one is using anti-aliasing catmull rom

                      this one is using anti-aliasing-area

this one is removing the blind...

                        Re: Tutorial + WIP

Great Nomer, I propose now, since it's just colors in the scene, to render
with different color mapping. The differences will be more visible in this
                        stage of the process.
And another thing...can't really explain, but I read in forum somewhere, that the value of the Adaptive Amount of the QMC Sampler, should be @ 0.85. I think, that way, it's more adaptive....
                        I'm not shore, sorry.

mmm. color mapping i think correct the burn value. based on my recollection, i think damien was proposing a 0.85 value or lower under the adaptive amount in the qmc sampler to lighten up the dark areas and to minimize blotches.

Sorry....I modify my post...it was adaptive amount of QMC Sampler.

Nomer, it would be nicer if you will include wires of the actual sketchup files so that we could see where the square lights are located.
