          hey shawn...
well, it's a quad core with only 4 gb of ram. i know it's not so much, but considering that my first renders used to last 8 hours... five minutes is very good for me.

ooo, hehehe, that's just photoshop Aceshigh... it was a really quick work... they're supossed to be reflections from the hanging lamps... wich by the way do not look like lamps hehe...
look for the knoll light factory pluggin for photoshop, it's from red giant...
it's a really cook plugin wich allow us to put those light effects, and there's a huge library of flares that we can use really great for this kind of renders :P

                      Thanks.
Materials are arroway, both floor tile and the wall.

I'm new here, but I need some advice on a few settings in the following Vray for Rhino rendering of an interior living room. Any help is appreciated. Obvious problems are blotchy walls and the speckling on the vertical louvers at the top of the image on the left (just need to know exactly which settings I need to modify to fix these little things). This render is with no post-production and took about 50 mins on a Dell Studio laptop.

                          Thanks all.

if it's vray for rhino i couldn't say anything, hehe, if it's vray for sketchup i think you need to increase the subdivisions in the reflective layers, decrease the noise threshold and increase the light cache value.
also it seems like you're using default material on the white walls
