You should leave them.. they look cool =P

it could be 2 overlapping faces?
bump applied to a material?

consider lowering your cameras F.stop to lighten the scene, maybe somewhere between 4&9 (trial and error, try 5 first =P)? also try get some natural light coming through those windows? and a chrome finish on the chair legs (reflection with no Map applied)

they do look cool, but i cant leave them there. Awesome call on the overlapping faces, I erased one of the walls and will re-render and let you know if it works.
