Hi Damien ... its great looking and maybe it could help to get nice grass without long displacement rendertimes. Stay on it please.

                Great. Thank you.

A first wish: could you make that the last used options are saved for the next usage. Could help to test different options.

                    Re: Fur

Thanks for taking it for a spin. Making options "sticky" is something that I'll be looking to implement, but in the long run the intent is for their to be a dialog box which will make setting all the options much easier. Since the idea is to have it "macro-able", they the command line still does need to be available, so I'll try and get it working.

                      Re: Fur

                      Guys I have a question.
Rendering fur takes less time then using displacement for eg. creating grass or crapets...right?

                        Re: Fur

The fur takes a certain amount of time to generate, but typically that's pretty quick. Rendering wise, there isn't any noticable slowdown like with displacement, but I'm sure it takes a little longer than just the surface.

Thanks Damien...have just downloaded it and time to give it a few tests, but I'm very excited about this...it's one of the few reasons that I still use Max, so this should be a great help for me!

                            Hi Damien,

Does your team plan on making the fur part of the next Vray Release for Rhino, or will it always be a seperately downloaded item and plugin? This totally rocks btw!

Thanks Hoop. Just so you know, this plugin is completely of my own personal development and should be considered completely separate from any development from ASGvis. At the moment its unsure whether or not V-Ray Fur will make its way into the next full version of VfR/SU. It will depend largely on how the development process for major features that we wish to implement wind up going as well as how all the features are really prioritized. In regards to the plugin, it will continue to be made available regardless of whether V-Ray fur is added or not. Part of the idea behind the plugin was that it was a renderer agnostic tool that would be available for all Rhino users, not just V-Ray users.
