zero- i got hdri to work fine in DR with vray hdri. I had to name the path:

\\youcompnamehere\c (as in my drive letter)\textures\hdri\scene.hdr

For other images that were unique to unique folders, I had to go in and reselect the material editor paths.

UNC (Universal Network Connectivity?) basically means that you have a mapped network drive instead of a local path- ie. c:\.... In XP you can map network drives by right clicking on my computer or by right clicking on folders and setting them to share. Then you will want to add this (might do it automaticllly) to My Network Places. Make sure all the computers in the network can see these mat directories you have setup.

hmmm another good way, i'll try this tomorrow (erm... today *g*)
it's now 4:15 am, i think it's enough for today

        my intention was:

i point to a UNC-conform drive, like \\satellite\maps\... , a shared folder, accessible from all the machines. i always point to that, even if i am on that machine - it works, but it does not with those vray-hdri's.

i'm trying to map it to a mapped drive instead of a folder, like z: = \\satellite\maps\ and then adress the maps like z:\image.hdri.

        thanks again man

I think Your second idea makes a lot more sense if you don't mind renaming your drive. Plus it'll be a real breeze to manage over the long-run. I've been procrastinating from doing that because I've got too many applications/misc whatnot installed there... Oh well- Hari Kari.

Hehe I don't blame you. It is alot of work but it drives me batty if the inside of my cases are a mess. My obsession with having to have a neat case prob stems from the older steel cases that I built my first few PC's in, always trying to ad/remove components through a jungle of wire only to be cut to ribbons on the interior edges of the case. So in the long run I think its worth taking a little extra time to tidy up the case and increase airflow at the same time

hahah yeah...and then your like "WTF!!! i only open the case to blow the dust out" thats about the time you turn pale white and pass out from blood lose. I remember it especially back in the 486 days where the case were pretty crude. and you could really loose a finger if you werent careful.

Speaking of which, my friend and i were modding his case abit, and we were cutting a 12cm fan hole ou the back of his case with tin snips (cheap case) and it was a bit of a botch job so there were bit of razor sharp metal poking out and we were like "ahh we can fix that later". 2 days later my friend went to pick up his machine, and he puit one had at the fron and one half way up at the back, he lifted it and it slipped. i bet you can guess what happened next. It was pretty messy.

Heheh also when you notice that you have cut yourself, it takes a few seconds to find the cut, then you look around the desk and it looks like a murder scene, and you think to yourself "how the hell did i miss that!!"

I think they are great, i dont use them all the time as i have my Logitech z680's for normal use. I use them during games nights and stuff. And they perform really well especially when fed a proper 5.1 channel.

The only draw back is they dont have a volume control on them, so you gotta use windows volume control or in game. Apart from that, they are great!!! Also very comfortable!!

And they are so damn hard to find hey

I was just lucky to find them in a computer store in my town.

cool sounds good, Im sure you can get some sort of reiostat(sp?) at radio shack or an electronics store to controll the volume.

well i could but, i dont think would have one that would work with the 3 plugs (front, back, and centre/sub)

                              I will have a look.

yea I forgot about the 3 seperate lines, mite be a PITA to get 3 dials for it.

there must be a better solution to coltrol the OS's master volume like when you in a game.
