DADAL, That would be great. It's not just for people new to V-Ray. If you are a seasoned professional you might learn a lot from the event. The amount of work we put together in a short time is pretty remarkable. We used all out of the box software to deliver a lot of content in a short time. I take the V-Ray, Mari Ptex workflow to another level.

Yeah, there's talks to do a DVD, Online application that covers all parts of the production. From Concept storyboards to set survey and construction, Robot modeling in Maya/Zbrush, texturing in Mari, to Ptex creation of lighting environments in Mari, look dev in V-Ray, Rendering shots in V-Ray, and compositing in Nuke. All done in lightning speed without studio pipeline tools. Strictly out of the box. The big thing about this is it was done with high quality in a record time of less than 1 month. I was on it fulltime, but everyone else was doing it Part time from their day job. It's great for beginners and for anyone looking to work with artists remotely to succeed. I would get a temp model of the environment and do a quick tonemap of the HDR images and create a quick autoUV and paintjob for the animator. Then the animator was able to install a demo of V-Ray to load up V-Ray RT to see where he would be placing the camera in the environment in realtime while it loaded 400 megs worth of texture information for this massive environment. I used GO2meeting to conference and take control of his computer remotely to help setup his scene for V-Ray which was really cool. Once I got camera's from him for each shot I would then hand those cameras to Fabio for more accurate scene modeling, and we would blast through high res ptex painting of the HDR collected data for the entire set which included the 6th Bridge and Tunnel in Downtown Los Angeles. 127 photo positions with 6 exposures 3 stops apart. Going from a pitch black tunnel to a bright outside with sun. Physical camera worked out great so I didn't have to change texture intensity from the different area's of the environment. A really good linear workflow. It takes my Mari Ptex demo to the next level and improves on the first concept. Moving around the environments in V-Ray RT with Physical camera turned on with all motion blur and DOF is a sight to see!

I'm heading to the airport now for Colombia, talk to you guys later!

Yeah, it would be a pleasure to see you guys presenting those stuff. Maybe we can put up some event with our local software reseller. They did a vray event before. Of course only if it would be an option for you to come to germany.

pechart: Yeah, depending on where we go, we make sure the local resellers are there. In Colombia we have the distributor for V-Ray and Foundry apart of the event via the region. I just got in.. It's a totally different place than the states! I love it.. I really want to go back to Berlin again too.
