Looks real nice so far. I like the metal you've created for the hubs. What are you using to light the scene?

                  Wow, thats some texting man!!!
Blur up the entire wheel a bit, it feels like the tire irs rotating, but the wheel is sharp like its standing still.

lookin' great- wheel spin a must. from my trips to cabo- a lot of red dust on the bottom of body and undercarriage would be appro. as would a reason for the wheelie...

                    regardless, it's a beauty

Psy - :P the dust is the hardest part for me, I think I have to look into some of the volumetric plugins - Anybody have any ideas?

Erl - Yep needs some attention, The tires look alot better with displacement but it kills the render time, I think I will have to model the treads

rimshak - I'd love to find one under my tree, not my Christmas tree but the one over my driveway

Marc - Nah, the governator drives a Hummer

                      mik - Thanks

Juju - Wish there was a RT engine that could handle all those polys

Jon - Wheel material is just photo texture with a bit of reflection , lighting is that old terragen probe that looks like mars at medium presets.

dusan - Thanks , I'm hoping to do some MB on it, It will be an animation but at this point I just have this static image.

rgbxyz - definately needs to be dirtied up, and it is just landing from a jump offscene.

nice modelling, r u using spline for the body frame(rollbar)?
i think the reflection is a little bit wrong.
                        wire pleaseee.............

btw, did u model the penske on ur avatar too?

one more small detail that might make all the difference......use a motion blur on the background (photoshop post?). You could keep it relatively low so it doesn't completely blur out the image, but that should help the truck look like it's going by the camera and not a low rider with those bouncy shocks

Nice work Eric! That is looking fantastic!!

I wrote a tutorial on creating smoke and clouds recently. Its on my website. Might be a place to start or get some ideas for the dust.

                              Here's the wire:

restroe - Most of the cage and the engine are from a nastruck I found on one of those racing sim sites, though I'll probably end up modeling one that is more correct. The parts of the cage I did model are indeed converted splines, the body I poly modeled. The rest of the stuff is mostly lathed or extruded. And yep I modeled the indy car, there are some shots of it on my web site though I've never really finished it.

I agree with the motion blur , probably be one of the last things though.

Tim - Great to hear from you your tut looks like it might do the trick, definately going to try it.
