Are those gaps visible using Boundary Checking->Point mode ? Note that Edge mode trimms the patches near the edge, but doesn't add new items. In some cases may be necessary to increase density.
Basically Edge mode works as Point mode but removing elements at edge.

Regarding the Ambient Occlusion issue, i must ask to Vlado. It seems some trimmed elements are visible for the GI.

Interesting, that at least shows how well the trimming works.

We got the reply from Vlado regarding this issue: you must turn on "work with transparency" in VRayDirt. That solves the problem.

                To Itoo:

Thank you thank you thank you. Seems to work great. Finally a good working lawn system. Keep up the awesome work.

                Feature request:

If i have an AutoCAD file with 10 tree block symbols and then file-link them into max, i can use the Custom Edit feature to assign a ForestPro tree to each block. But, if i edit the base autoCAD file and copy some of those blocks so i then have say 15 instances of them, i would LOVE it if forestpro could automatically add the forestpro trees to the additional 5 instances. Make sense? Basically a smarter 'linking' between an autocad file and forestpro.

I bet lots of people would love that! Can it be done? Maybe add a button in ForestPro?

                Cheers!

Thank you for using our products.

Regarding your suggestion, this is something we have considered but although would be possible a smart link with the referenced objects, it's not clear how to import new elements. I mean, it would be necessary some rule to find them: by name using wildcards ?, some type of container in AutoCAD ?. Probably each user would like to use their own method.

If you want to discuss it, your ideas are welcome in the iToo forum (we are a bit off-topic here).

how about if the blocks in autocad have the same name as the trees...so the trees would match the location of the block automatically.
or matching autocad block name with a Forest Pack so one can use a set of trees for the same block in cad

                      Unfortunately, it didn't help.

Double checked and I didn't have it checked. I'll check it and report back later.

I used a Forest Pro preset, with the new "edge" selected. It was rather simple.

The new "edge" with Forest pro works great! here, is an update. I am not happy with the tree in the front, so it'll probably be changed.
