Ive been admiring the airport images ive seen recently and only wish my project can come out as good. The main focus on my project is on different things that happen in different parts of the airport. So more or less i need to model most of the airport. This here is 2 hours into modeling part of the parking lot. i was just trying different things and i think ill go with a night scene.

The cars look better than the airport! I like the daylight scene more, it shows the building much better.

ill try to get more of it finished today. the client is comming over for lunch so im rendering out a quick anim to show him the camera movement
those half arches will have lights on them. i originally wanted to have some sort of shade for the cars between them but i cant think of a cool idea for the shades. down below though that will be a pathway around the edge of the parking lot with a glass covering. Bare in mine im not an archetect, im not a designer of building, im just an artist making things up as i go hehe
the airport will be a ring around the parking. so that the next ring outside the parking will be a 2 level departure/arrival zone road (the bridge you see at the top connects parking to airport on that level.)
then the airport building itself will be the next ring. etc etc.

my library so far concists of 3dcafe, turbosquid, friends on mirc. actually some of them dont have that many polys. its the egz-car-paint that makes them look sweet
i think it would be really really really cool to have a few super detailed cars like suurland creates for very close foreground shots. i know im just dreaming though id never be able to get anything like those. maybe if i had a budget on a project where i could get a high detailed one off of turbosquid

just picked up a really nice car for 160UDS on turbosquid which ill use for most of my closeup shots.
the camera starts from the top possition and flys right under the car.
didnt spend much time on the structure this weekend. spent most of my time converting materials on that car for vray.
the grainyness isnt from the car paint its from the motion blur.
im still modeling the underside of the car. the guy who made the car didnt do that. it looks like its modeled from the images on turbosquid however its just a texture of the cars underside. bummer. but tis still a really nice model though.

like i mentioned before. most of the models were collected over time from turbosquid, 3dcafe, 3dsmax CD's, all sorts of locations. not all are free models but there are still enough free ones out there.
