Pretty much what James said. How many shots you deliver at the end should be written inside the contract + that every new render requires exta work. Not only rendertime but also maybe additional models which have to be prepared or even already existing models revisted because they weren't supposed to hold up during close ups. It is really necessary to be upfront with the client what will cost him extra money and to make absolutely sure they know what they'll get delivered for the money they pay.
    Cheers,
    Oliver

Not quite the same thing but a similar metaphor. I've got a render output script that sets up all my passes and output file names. Each time I do something dumb like leave off the save file or leave the vray frame buffer on, I find out the code to fix that and add it into my output script. Might be worth doing something like that yourself - almost a load of tick boxes of things you've to do with the client each time you do a job?

The estimate clearly stated a single view, which basically is the contract. But yes, I still need to implement the contract. Here is the final. There was something wonky going on with the window glass, but didn't help with the render time.

There's something funky going on with those wine glasses, they look like they've got a mirrored finish. Also, the coffee machine behind the toaster looks like a 2d plane with a texture on it. Is it a placeholder?

Now if I hear an agent tell me a property has a "built in" coffee machine, I'll know it's just a coffee machine in a coffee-machine-sized-hole in the wall...

Not sure who picked the furniture, but I imagine the two chairs at the kitchen should probably be bar stools... I can't imagine sitting with my face at counter-top height...

I noticed the wine glasses. It rendered fine the first few time, but this last time got screwy. The designer called for the chairs, really! The whole is for their coffee maker. It's 3D, but it is reading 2D.

How do you fill that coffee pot? I have that pot and it could never work in a wall niche. They also emit steam which would ruin the drywall.

Your renderings are awesome. Any non-vray-user client should thank you profusely for producing such great images for them. Only us 3d nerds would nitpick all these little things. But that's the fun right. Nothing in 3d is ever really complete or good enough! Haha. The black hole of doing animation!

thanks! This forum keeps me humble . As far as the coffee maker, I'm not sure how it'll work.

                      Hi Bobby,

Do you use any special plug-ins for the lens glare in PS?

It's probably much more accurate in VRay, but it is far easier in PS.
