The black I was referring to on the ceiling is pure black in the third image down. It didn't really look like the lights were off but almost as if the tiles were missing and some construction going on. Maybe they're installing new network cables

What are your light settings? The new image appears to have a falloff of some sort and doesn't represent sunlight well.

Yes, those were errors on the ceilings (double faces), I fixed that soon afterwards.
As for the lighting, I am using just one direct light for the Sun and a HDRI background map for GI and reflections. That fall-off you see across the building is caused by other low city street buildings standing around (invisible to camera) and blocking the direct light allowing just secondary bounces at the bottom of the building like in a real world.

Just one more still from the night scene.

        Any comments greatly appreciated.

Looking good. There is one thing that grabs my attention though. On the shot with the entire building (second last image you posted) the building seems to taper out as it gets higher. Is this how the building is designed?

that's an illusion from using two-point perspective. the verticals do not diverge as your brain would be expecting them to.

really nice work paraganek. the night scene is great.

very nice stuff, ive always loved phallic structures, also when i rapidly scroll up and down the page with the first image in focus, i get this dizzy feeling of actually moving across the height of the building, lots of fun.

That is quite simple. I am enclosing a small scheme for the material settings for the mapped ceilings.
