        brilliant.

Thanks heaps..exactly what i was looking for.

What dimensions are your blinds? so we know how to base the material on the scale.

        Cheers

If I'm not mistaken, the translucensy of your material is not active. AFAIK you need to set some refraction, and maybe even some glossies there to make the SSS work.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.

yeah after testing it doesnt seem to work so well for me.

Could either be what you said, or just my scale.

              thx for your comments all

Da_elf : maybe for the animation, but my computer is not a P4 3.2Gh, only a bi-celeron600, and the changing light constraint to compute the global photon map and the irradiance map each frame, so it would take so much rendering time i think, but if anybody want to try it i can share the scene file
rendering time is about 40min at 640x480 (the area shadow lights and the SSS increase alote rendering time :/)

trixian : yes the translucensy is active but with a low refractive power (i mean dark grey for the refraction) and you can see it at the top of the curtains with the shadow casted on the opposite faces from the camera but appearing on the other side.

              DaForce: blinds dimension 12x150x0.2 centimeters

i worked again on the material settings.....here is my new result (really better i think)

              1#

              2#
