yep, probably, but 2x's slower seems drastic.

It's the problem that the refractive glass is sending rays into a hall of mirrors and seeing all sorts of things off camera - glass is a bastard, glossy glass even worse

Looks great with the dof, glare / glow too high - having a flare coming off a tulip seems a bit odd

dof adds a huge amount of realism.
I find your bloom/glare a bit too directional, do you use starglow? (I guess not as you do your post in PS if I'm not mistaken)

the renderings look pretty good .... I'm assuming is wood framing, the thickness of the floor on the 2nd level is way too slim.

Good eye. I did catch that, but simply ran out of time to work on it. I was going to drop a header in, but I figured the header would be buried in the floor system, so I just left it alone.

Looks gorgeous - small bit of dof needed on the garden outside in both though, if you've got shallow focus on the fg, there should be some on the bg too - it'll make the outside less distracting too.

Great work, you're getting really consistent!

Looks good, though for my opinion this interior needs completely different lighting. I think here you need to focus more on the kitchen itself , but on the first image for example your focus goes on bright areas. Also i think that kind of kills perspective , you do not sense the air , depth is not that obvious. What i'd do is i'd remove all artificial lighting and start with making balances outside / sky / hdri lighting. After that i would add subtle lighting over the middle island to define the working area and making that important spot of the image. The first plan i would make subtle lit - i like how it looks on the right , i think that's the correct brightness for closest part of the image. Anyway that is only my opinion , who knows what client wants

I started with one HDRI and filled voids with artificial lights. Also, the client picked the views, so my hands were tied there. I doubt I'll spend much more time on this, since the client is happy, and my schedule is packed.

Okay, I am trying to render this out with just an HDRI, but man let me tell you, getting rid of noise is a lot harder. To get rid of noise I have to increase most all settings, which increases render times. Now, if it's work it okay; we'll see

Just daylight... Looks good, however, it took 32 hours to render. I am thinking that DOF + DE isn't a good combination, especially with the crystal chandelier.

Looked a little flat, so I did some subtle curve and color adjustments.

Glass looks a little misted to me in terms of the washed out BG, might be intentional but I'd expect there to be plenty of torched bright values but still some blacker bits. What's your base anti aliasing filter by the way - the razor sharpness almost looks unnatural compared to the slight dof bits - have you post sharpened an area?

                                Looks awesome though.

Also - prefer the flat version, think it's more photographic personally - a very white kitchen is going to bounce a lot of light and rob contrast from the image but it's no bad thing imo, they're naturally very "airy".
