hi guys, this is my first MASH and VRay 3.4 test in Maya 2016.5. I want to make 5-10 second animaton but i have one problem: i don't want the blue lights to be so solid and flat like that. I used vray meshlight and also tried vray light material but couldnt find a way to make is transparent like ui holograms in movies how can i do that? i want to use procedural noise texture or etc to make it different transparent values along the light emitting surfaces. if anybody can help me i will be grateful.

Does the opacity for the light material help in any way to achieve that?

Would it be any different if you enabled the alpha is luminance checkbox in the fractal texture's color balance section? Can you share the scene?
