your bushes are starting to look like camoflauge netting. Not sure what to do about it though...

Personally, I like the bushes... what are you using, displacment? or are they some kind of lowpoly things?
The image is coming along nicely. I wish I could help you with the sand, but I'm in same boat and I haven't worked out a good sand material yetChris

hey, that looks pretty good! But damn, that pink car is ugly
two more things: I 'd fix the verticals and the horizon is a bit strange with the clouds touching the sea. It looks to me like an image that was cut halfway. You can contact StudioGijs for 3D visualization and 3D modeling related services and on-site training.

took me two days to render the darned thing so ill be damned if im changing anything hehe. the client (barf) asked for the pink car. as for the clouds im not sure what to do its a 360 degree environment map. next time ill do a test putting it on a sphere and squishing the sphere to kinda make horrizon clouds smaller.

nice palm trees - very nice, are they xfrog?
But one thing letting it down is the photo of the trees behind the model in the background - the scale of the palm tree is about double that of your rendered ones which do look like the dog's danglies.
With the environment map - adjust the image itself. Make the horizontal line half way up, squash the clouds up to the top half, and just fill the bottom half with a white fill.(you wont see this as it will be where the sea is.)

dont talk to me about the car hehe. clients choice. he didnt want red, blue, green or black. so i said. gee. how about pink (stupid me for opening my mouth) and they said yeah. do pink.
this is the day shot. icky. i hate it. was rushed out in about 3 hours rendering and i had to lower GI quality just to get it done in time. Hence the really muddy crap in the shadow area.
