Geddard: Oreja = Ear. 1 Ear of the bull is for a very good performance, 2 ears are for an excellent performance. Rabo = Tail, the highest reward, especially if combined with 2 ears..... Extreme honour is: allowing the torero to exit the arena through La Puerta Grande, the main door, then usually carried on the shoulders of his secondants.

      thanks aroma
i think i should know that when i do a film about a Torero right?
(Immortality one achieves by getting killed.......)
Haha, unfortunately too often the "wrong ones" get killed in this "Tradition". I dislike killing Animals for amusement. Still thinking how i can put that in the Movie with a good Joke.
Well, my Torero is a totally different Character, he's nice and friendly... hmmm..
      Is he?

I did not have much Time for Animation this Weekend but i did some things with Vray.
The Skin is done with the updates SSS Algorithm. It's faster and nicer to setup for Skin i have to say.
The results are definately still tweakable.

I did an Animation Rendering over Night too (Old Walkcycle, QMC&Lightcache with 3D motion blur.
Unfortunately the Subdivisions with Displacement still making problems. (notice the flickering on the hair)
Well, we get that figured out... Here the latest Walkcylce. Just a more relaxed Walk.

      Hope you like some Renderstuff

          Hahaaa, you're damn right dude!

Now i can't see anything different in them, Damn! Somehow the Morph Targets and Subd's destroyed the shape. I think i will detail them, and make them more browish. Maybe Displacement. Thanks for the Pointer.
Next Update will take a while. Finally have to animate!
          So see Ya then.

Great updates Sascha, I can't see the animations right now (you kno why ), but i will do later, I like the Looing-behind-his-back picture with the sign The Torero on the top.

And yes, his eyebrows are fishes!!! How funny!

              Great!
              Best Regards,

Nicely done! I really like how you did the hair and shoes (I like shiny things). The colors are great too.

My only comment would be to try making the shoulder pads and patterns more reflective. In the concept it's quite distinct and striking. Or maybe it's just me *really* liking shiny things!

It's getting better and better. Still a suggestion if I may: the jacket or chaquetilla is always very tight, especially around the back. Thus it will accentuate the back curvature and general posture (imagine how the torero walks when he moves away from the Toro).

@Zuliban: Thanks man! I hope i see you on MSN again!
@Tisho: Thanks man for the constant encouragement.
@yeohyip: Thanks! I like shiny things too. I will keep your advice in mind when i do the final materials later.
@aroma: Thanks aroma. Actually i had some Problems with Cloth Simulation in my tests anyway so i might just set the back part to SkinWrap while simulating the neccesary parts only.

Here is an Animation Update. I use a technique called "Pose to Pose Pop-Through Animation". Right now it's acutally just a rough blocking/pacing/timing stage that i can detail later. (breakdowns, overlapping) Right now i think the movements are not fast and snappy enough, please tell me what you guys think.

I think everything should be sped up except his pauses and the swoop of the cloth thing. It's just too flowy and there is no intention to his movements. I'm no expert but don't these guys want to be very confident like the look on his face? They want to make the crowd think they are the savior and the bull WILL go down no matter what.

For instance, when he brings his leg up for the first motion it's good but then he should kinda stomp down like Flamenco or something.

I could be wrong though, I always thought these guys were called matadors but I guess there is a team involved in a bull fight.

As everyone from Spain rolls their eyes at me

Hmmm, I guess that's kinda what you were eluding to at the end of your post. Well, if that didn't help, I should say that I do think it's slowing down the timing overall.

                        Hey there.,

I agree, it's not snappy enough. I remember matadors being quite quick and "snappy" as they twirl their capes around. Maybe he can also shift his feet a little when he's looking around, right now it feels a little too planted at some points. But I suppose that can come in the detailing. Actually, now that I think about it, it'll be quite a task to animate. But once you pull it off, it'll look fantastic!

BTW I like the cloth material

About the cloth, yes it does look really good but talking with a coworker about your character he mentioned that when in Spain he got to interact somehow with the calf in training. I guess it was like a tourist attraction. But he mentioned that the cloth he used wasn't red but pink for safety or something. He said that the actual cloth used in the fights he saw were very very red and that it was important to be this way. I like that it matches his outfit now and not sure how true you care to get but it was something that he brought up. He liked the look overall though and didn't notice much else that bothered him or anything.

Ok guys, you're right. Faster, snappier, better pacing is needed. I made some parts quicker in this Mov. It may not be enough yet but it's hard to keep the balance between the fast and slow moving parts. I'm too tired to work more on it now but expect some updates the weekend.

Gosh i have much much more animation in here than in the Griesgram. (It was a joke in terms of animation) I really hope i can pull it off, yeah.

Thanks for the critique/encouragement guys! [/img]

Don't think Griesgram was a joke by any means. You got allot of due compliments on that one as I'm sure you will on this guy when you're really happy with him.

But I know what you're saying. There is allot more from your story boards. How long is the final going to be anyway? It's hard to almost trash a sequence and go back and reanimate it. I've had to do it a few times.

                              keep up the great work
