I take it everybody is out buying graphics cards then.
I installed it and have tried it on the FX3500 NVIDIA I have no difference really at all.
So to get any results I presume i will have spend money ?
4gb of ram built in so not the optimium.
I think i was expecting something but .nothin.
Pitty. and no money to spend on Graphics cards either.
Just ticking by at the moment, lucky to pay the bills.

Check the RT render server window to see if it is really using any GPU at all (or the EVGA Precision thingy). If your drivers are too old and do not support OpenCL, then it fall back to CPU code (but you'll get no warning in 3ds Max about this).

Heya
Wow I cant believe GPU is supporting CAUSTICS :O WOW ! Cpu its not supporting it right?
I got few ''bugs'' regarding caustics... not sure if they are bugs tho... posted in 1st post
Interesting thing is that GPU is always generating caustics when ever I tell it to do it or not...Last edited by Dariusz Makowski (Dadal); 13-09-2010, 09:08 AM.

They are "GI caustics" (done through path tracing) and not photon-mapped caustics. Both methods produce identical results, but in different ways. You can enable/disable GI caustics from the "Indirect illumination" rollout.

aaa okai ! Got ya now... interesting, so how can I control it then? Can I get them brighter and so on. Just like the Vray:: Caustic works and the Vray Light parameters under settings? I read from help file that its only for indirect light, so if I use a vray sphere to cast caustic thought glass I wont see it using GI... I would need Vray:: Caustics for direct light... Which is not supported by RT...right ?
