When using either a registered service server (and starting in services) or manually started server, I get varying results in speed and look. Sometimes I get a very dark scene and other times the scene is correctly lit.
My whole computer hangs sometimes (this has happened twice in the 8 or so times I have tried the beta).
Overall performance is pretty terrible. I have 2x 480gtx cards in sli mode.
Where people are talking about gpu+cpu combination does that mean gpu (single kernal) on the workstation and then cpu on the network systems ?
Scared to test much more because of these hangs....
You do NOT want to run your video cards in SLI mode. You want them to be two individual cards. Otherwise you are telling the video cards to act like one big card instead of two individual cards. SLI should ONLY be used for video games, and even then, the hassle may not be worth it!

Nop
Single Kernal its just simple opencl code from what I know, the multi kernel (future one) will allow u to create custom shaders and so on if my memory is not mistaking me...
And about the GPU+CPU mode, it means that it will use ALL U GOT. So ur Network nodes and workstation will use both CPU + GPU, however remember u have to edit all the files on both nodes and workstation in order to work.
Crop render - not so necessary
RT Animation Preview, Gama override + PNG alpha chanel
And Update image only when min/sample reached... would be cool to. Its kinda easier when its at same quality than doing 50 copies... also maybe a slider like maya got to go between renders... guh dream ^^
Disable Caustics under gpu. Im just working on a scene where CPU is rendering quicker than GPU... I dunno if its for sure caustics but it looks like it is... thanx!
You can disable GI caustics if you turn off the reflective/refractive GI caustics options in the V-Ray Indirect Illumination settings (same as for the normal renderer).
Sometimes if I have noise threshot set to 0.001 (standard one) after long render, vray can crash and crash max too... happens sometimes...
Whishlist
3 cameras, 3 separate vray rt window opens... I know weird idea, but it actually would help me doing different shots and see instantly updates from all angels... I think it should be even quite easy to do since we can reuse all GI and so on data hehe...
Ok I'm not sure if its me... but some features just stopped working...
Vray RT CPU - Affect reflection on/off always is on. / Specular and diffuse at random...
Vray RT CPU - Mesh shape lights doesn't render anymore... or they dont render under 3/4 layers of glass..
