Yes, CPU war is in full effect. Good thing I waited on buying a Ryzen. Let's see how the top AMD and Intel chips handle the benches. Hopefully very soon.Aleksandar Mitov

Rumored cost of Threadripper - $850 USD. Awesome if true! It's funny how $1700 could buy you а single 10 core Intel CPU just a month ago and now you can (hopefully) grab two 16 core AMD CPUs for the same price. Thank god for competition! I honestly think that if it was up to Intel we most likely wouldn't have seen a 16-18 core desktop CPU in the next 5 years. Just look at how slow the progression from 6 to 10 cores was for Intel - 6 years. Not to mention the outrageous price of the 10 core CPU. It's painfully obvious that Intel was purposefully withholding the release of higher core count desktop CPUs in order to sell their high priced Xeon server CPUs. As soon as they saw just a tiny bit of competition they "magically" happened to realize that they could offer a 18 core desktop CPU to the market.
Update: According to an ASUS representative at Computex, i9 7980XE, the 18 core Intel CPU, won't be released until early next year? http://www.tweaktown.com/news/57849/...ase/index.html. If true, I'll most likely be getting a Threadripper.Last edited by Alex_M; 04-06-2017, 07:36 AM.Aleksandar Mitov
