That's not what happened. He got mad at the lack of respect people consistently showed him and the demands they placed on him, the event was the last example that pushed it over the edge.

This 'respect' business is what I can't get my head around.

Okay, loads of people gave him 0.01 euro - so why punish and 'disrespect' all those that did give him much more ?

He decided it wasn't worth it anymore. You have no right to tell him he was wrong to do that, and in doing so are kind of proving why it was the right thing to drop support.

You have to remember here - you're accusing someone of entitlement and an ego for not updating a free plugin based on someone else's code for a new version of software - which, when the plugin was first created, wasn't yearly. He does not owe you a thing and it's not an ego thing to excersize that right.

Most people who rely on legacy plugins keep old versions around to use them, it is common. Nobody forced you to uninstall 2016.

But then you contradict everything that was said about this was not being about the money with the part about the "occasional $10" not being enough......

He can do what he likes (as he clearly is) - I just find it all very strange (and SAD) to punish those that paid. But I suppose you can do/say anything, AND NOT CARE ABOUT ANYONE when you don't give out your real name / location etc.....

Then it was never really a free plugin. I think he wanted to make money, however, he wanted to avoid the responsibility that goes along with selling something; it must have been a loophole in his mind. Again, back to my original statement, it is a heart thing.

To be honest I think he have the right to do whatever he want with his plug-in.. It was great and free for years and personally I appreciate the effort he put on that and respect his decision.
To focus on the solution I would suggest Grow FX too . I've tried it last night and using a modified preset i downloaded from the offical site I created kind of one-click-solution that I can use in my projects easily. So give that a try .

I think we all agree that it is his to do with what he wants, however, some might not agree with what he did do. We all would probably except if he got too busy or lost interest. I'll pay him $1000 for it and start selling it at $19.95 a pop. I"ll hire someone on Fivr for $5 to update it
