uhm...so what is new? i probably wouldn't notice the difference to 7 when using it. looks like the new stuff is only for character animation.

ya Its mostly just stuff the subscription users already had. Im so disappointed about no word about 64bit version though.

Yes me too. no rebuild like it looks nothing.

and the most stuff is allready in the subscription.

only interisting point is the animation mixer working with the other parts together. but to be honnest, its nothing for us , only for playing.

the other parts i have seen so far are minor workflow improvements.

well maybe its like with 7.. after a while working with int, you dont want to miss it anymore

there are some things that are improved, like viewport selections is one. Stability has been improved byt 70% or so over max 7. Lots of new features, in modeling tools, skinning etc. Pelting would be one of the most newest features of max 8.
Thats all I can say at this point

Is all this relative to 7.0/7.1 or 7.5 ?

well if they improved viewport speed and stability, why isn't it all over the autodesk page in BIG RED LETTERS

they put a pdf online with 4 pages of gabble and forget to mention something that really matters to everybody??

                        Hi Egz,

that would be the first biggest feature at all, a rebuild and 64 bit.

hmm this statement could also be pointing on the next release, maybe max 9, maybe a new product line " jeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhhhhuuuuuaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh ",

but maybe i am only dreaming.

but maybe live is only a dream.

                        welcome to the real world.

                              Through the grape vine

What I saw of Pelt ( UV unwrapping ) seemed pretty damn amazing. I heard through the rumour mill that there is something really big is coming. A total rebuild. It is clear that 8 is not that rebuild, but seems instead to be focused on the game industry. I suppose we will have to wait and see.
