Clearly you've never tried running Halflife 2/Far Cry/Any game on a Quadro FX card...

I know it was my own fault for buying a workstation card for my home machine - but Nvidia died for me the day I saw HL2 running on £100 ATI card.

well as you mentioned yourself Quadro is a workstation-card and the
D3D performance is not really killer...besides ati and vault had a strategic partnership, so guess for what cards HL2 is optimised :P But hl2 EP1 is running like a damn charm on the 7950GX2 here...well...as everything else too

and i thought the last videocard (7900GTX) i instaled was big!

I picked up 2 8800GTX's but can only fit one in my current case the damn SATA ports are all in the way. Ordered a new Mobo and case hoepfully I can get some specs and numbers posted by next week.

I am looking to pair it with a Intel Quad core, but really want to hold off for AMD's new 4x4 platform.

Pity they both dont fit. They wouldnt fit on my board either.. im going to have enough trouble fitting just one.
