    I must say - I like max2k9. More than 2k8.
    Waiting for vray
I just can't seem to trust myself
So what chance does that leave, for anyone else?

Just as a sidenote to cecofuli's post. They call it ITERATIVE rendering not interactive...and hence makes some more sense :P

      Regards,

I'm not that disappointed at all with 2009. I already planned a project with MR's animated proxies, so hopefully 2009 is at least as stable as 2008

Animated proxies are included for V-Ray 1.5 SP2, yes.

                  Best regards,

Yeah I know and I'm very thankful for that. But with 2009 I now am more certain that I can use it on a project next week, which makes things a lot easier for me. Looking forward to sp2 though

it seems that the mr proxies need no external file to be stored. that's nice.

They do need an external .mib file... it would not be a proxy otherwise, but a simple instance.

guess you can conclude, mrproxy is a 'clone' of the vrayproxy
Will that new composite be supported by vray?

                                Mental Ray

So, just for conversation, if Mental Ray inside MAX is easier to use with the same results as v-ray would people start using Mental Ray? It almost seems like we all have become family (how sweet) so would we support v-ray long term?

Personally I would assume that Mental Ray has at least the same learning curve as v-ray and I am not up for changing for the purpose of change so I would stay aboard V-Ray since I am getting comfortable with it. I would also continue to upgrade, which really funds the development of the application.

                                Just wondering
