thats the good thing about max; you get new but get to keep the old ones also. I say it´s the most backward compatible software I ever tasted (bugwise)

Definately. I don't know anything about Autodesk's future plans, but I feel the whole MAX product line will be replaced soon by something else. Or they will continue to loose some serious market.

I've just downloaded it and I've got serious problem with 2009 version...

Many many crash with a archviz exterior scene with some bipeds...
Strange... maybe it came from my scene....

I'll check...

But it's just a 1st feeling...

The entire video server was down yesternite.
Further, i get crashes upgrading both the .net packages (2.1 sp1 and 3.0, 64bit), hence max will crash out upon plugin loading (as soon as it hits one that requires any .net component).
Am i alone with this?

I clean all my scene, no more vray warning or anything else plugins warning...

just geometry few AXYZ people and an new camera. No shader... not even a standard one. very clean scene...


Allways crash... doing nothing !
just turning around objects in the view port...


Someone knows good XSI tutors ?

I just made a test with sphere "4096" and mental ray new shaders (ceramics)... and crash at render...

Script error when switching presets in new Frame buffer...

Well, at least you got it running It gives me a DLL error before the splash screen even and exits right away...

Works fine. I have 2k8 redistributables and all new .net stuff.
