Are you on 2010 x64 with the latest sp and extension? It's been a while, but I think my workaround was to close the interface and load it again.

I use this quite a lot now and it's great. What are you using for your texture? Have you used several images or just one? Is it a wood texture? I tend to try and use at least 10 textures. If I'm struggling I get a large texture and make 10 small planks from it. Then more textures you use the better the result. It might be easier if you upload a scene with the floor in question and the texture you're using if you've got a tight deadline...

i have used MULTITEXTURES i ve bought on cg-source.....its something above 10 textures i load inside max through multitexture file....its previewing in the mat editor nicely, but in the viewport and in the render i only get one texture repeating!!!

Without seeing it then it's hard to see what you may be doing. I know this might sound a stupid question but you haven't put a UVW map on the floor have you?

nope....i used the same procedure as Thomas has in has videos.....

little update.....it renders in the VFB fine now, but in the viewport i still have one texture repeating only.....no updates form material editor as well......will try to reinstall the display driver

It always shows in the viewport as one texture repeating. As long as it renders OK then you're away

hmm...why is that so? on the Thomas videos, it automatically updates in the viewport...is that a DirectX driver limitation?

hmmm, not sure, I assume it must be if it shows on Thomas's videos differently. I've never been able to see the change in the viewport so haven't missed it. I just do a quick test render if I need to check it.

ah...excuse me...am an idiot...it actually works like that ((...kinda shame though...it would be useful if it had shown the maps correctly in the viewport

Its a limitation of 3ds max. Texture map is rendered only once and then reused for all objects in the viewport, so it can't vary between material id's or objects.
