How do you install a plug-in, on a slave, when 3ds max has expired? I downloaded the EGZ Glass shader for a scene and the plug-in is a MZP file that I was able to drag-n-drop into my MAX worsksation. I need it on the slaves too, but I can't do the drag-n-drop.

you can manually mirror dependant files, like plugin.ini and the contents of this directories:

      /plugins/
      /scripts/startup/
      /stdscripts/

there may be more, depending on the specific plugin.

in case of the MZP script package, it is a only a ZIP file in reality, that extracts itself to the max folder.
rename it to .ZIP and look what's inside.

          gotcha, thanks.

How about setting up gamma settings? All of a sudden I have a slave with different gamma settings so the buckets are rendering out different.

You could always use the portable license utility to transfer the 3ds max license to the slave and the transfer it back.

that would be 3dsmax.ini, if I remember right.

there isn't a 3dsmax.ini, but I am seeing some gamma settings in the CurrentDefaults.ini. I'll try that for now and get back to ya'll

it has to be somewhere but autodesk decided that keeping it in the 3dsmax folder wasn't complicated enough, so now it's hidden somewhere in the windows user folders tree hell.
