We still haven't taken the plunge into Max2015. In all honesty, I don't see how we are ever going to upgrade - so many projects and issues with an upgrade...how do you guys work out when to do it?
    Kind Regards,

I normally wait until I have some down time. Usually around Christmas time. I can't see any reason for upgrading to 2015 at all. The new features don't seem worth it to me.

i usually wait for at least 2 service packs because usually the worse problems are fixed by then. hopefully sp2 is out soon

I still haven't taken the plunge. Too many rolling jobs. I think I'll wait for SP2 like Cube and see if I can find a day or two to do it. Can't wait to have to find all the work-arounds for the dodgy UI changes again...

            We're still on 2012...

Not that i mind. it works great and there are no issues which would be fixed by upgrading.

I'd say that the viewport speed and quality enhancements plus some of the viewport tools (2d pan and zoom etc.) would be worthwhile upgrading for. To 2014 or 2015 I can't say. 2015 still has issues, it seems.

I'm on 2014 here and I'm waiting until the new and improved dev team bring out 2016.

At the risk of missing sarcasm: There's going to be a new dev team?

Somewhat, yes. Lots of new faces there and some new enthusiasm, it seems. Whether that translates into results is another question.

Yep indeed. They all got in too late to make any major impression on 2015 but a lot of max users that have been vocal critics over the last few versions have been very impressed with the things that the new team are doing. They got better advisement and feedback from a few different sectors that'd use 3dsmax and the majority of the dev team are previous users that in theory care about the product. I've seen a few bits that they've been doing and they're fixing some of the dumb stuff that should have been addressed years back.

Lets see what they get a chance to do.

SP2 seems to have resolved my issues with the Layer Manager taking ages to open/close/update. But I'm still hesitant to update from 2012 as I see very little benefit besides the few fringe things they've done with the program.
