Bought a Dell P2715Q, colors are very good by default and price tag was great for a 27" 4K monitor.
Using windows scaling makes it usable for work. Working with adobe products is a pleasure.

Regarding max, well, it sucks. It's too tiny, even with windows scaling (Totally unreadable without scaling). But since I'm used to max, I rarely read inside it and know where my tools are.

    Here's a 4k Max screenshot : http://forums.chaosgroup.com/showthr...855#post656855

They bought Dell's U2515H monitors here at work. They are 2560*1440 and to be honest, the ratio size/resolution is perfect. I might go with two of them in the near future and keep the 4K one on the best-cg-card-machine.

4K resolution is really heavy on the cg card even on a 980 ti.

I got my 4K and it's pretty nice. It's 28", so I'll have to get used to the distance the mouse has to travel, or maybe I'll try speeding it up. I have always used two monitors, however, I haven't for the past year. To tell you the truth, I don't miss it. It feels like I stay on task better with one monitor. Having said that, I do have my MacBook Pro with a 27" thunderbolt display next to me, too. With the new screen, to tell you the truth, I am not seeing anything jaw dropping. It seems a little washed out and things are really small. I'll get a calibrating device and see If I can get it to look better.

Nice! how does it compare to the apple thunderbolt display in terms of picture quality?

The Thunderbolt isn't 4K, it is 2560 x 1440 pixels, and I don't have them side-by-side. The 27" Thunderbolt, like this 4K, isn't anything spectacular. I do like proofing from my iPad, which seems to have the best screen.

Autodesk, get with it. Not supporting 4K is lame. Photoshop scales flawlessly.

Everything is working fine, except for 3DS MAX. Photoshop flies and so does the web, but MAX lags. The mouse lags and so does tabbing through input boxes. I can't imagine my GTX 970 isn't beefy enough for 4K. What happens when a normal PC user gets one?

I read an article about needing the correct cable. I am using the HDMI, however, the article said that you need to use the DisplayPort. I don't even know if my card has a display port. I just looked it up and the GTX 970 does have a DisplayPort.

No, DisplayPort. My card has one and the cable came with the monitor. I launched MAX, went to shaded mode, and MAX crashed.

My card supports 4D, so MAX is the weak link here. Everything else works and looks great. PhotoShop scales beautifully and runs smooth.

I'm hoping it solves the lagging thing. I know it will not solve the scaling issue, which is LAME!

This worked for icon and text size, but not lagging and the inability to work because of it.

If I set my screen resolution to something like 1920 X 1080, I don't have any issues in MAX. So, it's kind of lame, but it is a workaround.
