I actually have not noticed that. I tested on a 4k image but it seemed ok. I have an old card and haven't updated drivers in a long time though.

If I keep crashing, like I have been for the last few months, I am gone! I didn't think PS could crash, but several times a week, while just naming a layer, it'll crash.

I had to roll back to PS 2014 for that very reason Bobby. If memory serves if the layer was hidden when I went to rename it, kaput.

Or when you have several files open, close PS and while it's saving each file it crashes. It does make me not understand how we can be so passive about MAX's crashes as if it is okay. When PS crashes, it's a big deal and I actually think I need to call support, however, I don't know where to start. I hope Autodesk realizes that only a fraction of the crashes actually send a crash report. Most of the time MAX doesn't send a report at all.

I think im alone, I bought it tried it and hated it!
Slow UI, very bad with a stack of 10k 16/32 bit EXRs compared to photoshop

Maybe its nice as a cheap PS when you are working on smaller files

I understand Bobby. I can't really comment on that outside of the Area forums, you understand. I can say that the more threads you make about any issues, the better. Other than that, I'm just a huge Vray fan and I love these forums; and in this thread just some dude likin' Affinity.

I never used it on 10k images though.

              Best,
              AJ

I'm trying out the demo of this at the moment, has anyone managed to get ArionFX working with it ?
I followed the instructions in the help file to point to where the PS plugins are but not had any luck
                getting it to work.

                Cheers

I did find out that with Adobe, their month to month, is bogus. You can pay month to month, but you are tied into it for a year. I needed After Effects for one project, so I signed up fo a month and tried to cancel it when I was done, but I was told that I couldn't and I had to pay for it for 12 months. This, I did not realize and makes me angry.

Thanks for the heads up Mitviz. Think I'm going to finish my next project with Affinity Photo see how it goes,
They also do a vector graphics software as well, which I expect would be their version of Adobe illustrator,
which I'll try out on another project I have, and if all goes well I can ditch Photoshop subscription in June.

There is an annual-plan paid monthly, annual-plan prepaid and a monthly plan for After Effects - sounds like you picked the first. The monthly one is more expensive (30$ instead of 20$).

Yes, $85 for me to cancel. I'll guess I'll have to pay more attention next time.

I like the idea of Affinity Photo. I picked it up when it first came out - but I'm still stuck with Adobe. I don't use their apps all the time, but I at least need access to Photoshop, Lightroom, After Effects, & Premiere.. And Adobe doesn't make it easy to pare down on your subscription depending on your use. It's all or nothing.

I use affinity photo...at the beginning I wasn't happy because I was expecting something like PS but after canceling my Adobe subscription I do need to use affinity and I love it....way better than PS and how everything is setup (non-destructive workflow ).
if you are working on multiple views you could easily setup one view as a template and only replace the rendering layer with the new image to get the same look all across your views.

I also like about affinity that you have previous of everything....you have to apply things and press undo all the time like PS

this is a great feature.... I used a lot recently for photomontages
