It's just contrast in your image so a little bit of colour correction afterwards!

Oke, i had that feeling i was doing something different, cuz i was getting that brushed look, but it looked dull and not real...i will post updates.

But this is totally possible right? to achieve those type of images so yummy with vray...

    Thanks for the tips joconnel!

I go and try right away. One more question before i go, is it right to put textures in reflect maps? Most materials i downlaoded to learn are always in bump..but it does not give me results i want. Sometimes i feel like two brushes where used in those images? one bigger one smaller? like a blend material? This does not seem hard , but it is hard to get that commercial look . I go try everything u advised!

You'll need to add some glossiness and the anisotropic settings for the material to get rid of any of those harsh edges on the brushes part of the ring.

    Jewelry Brushed Metal Like this?

    Hi guys,

I'm trying to achieve this look for already 30 days using demo's of different render engines without success. At the end i came back to vray.

We need to purchase a new render engine as we need to render over 1000 rings and we can not afford to pay someone else do it, as they charge per image ofcourse.

So we have to do it ourselfs. We tried maxwell, keyshot and now trying vray.

So this is what we try to achieve.

You can see more examples at http://www.acredo.nl/trouwringen/tro...en_acredo.html.

This is what i achieve with vray. As you see it's totally flat and dull. It does not have that "awesome feeling on the surface of the ring" that brushed and charming feeling.

I do now that there is some post work involved, but i'm pretty sure we can get 80% close with vray alone.

    My attempt:

I used textures in reflect, bump en little bit in diffuse, tried different combinations, tilings, i also used mix =noise + brushed texture to get closer to the images we want to get.

If anyone can help us setup that material or scene to achieve that look we will get vray instantly. For us speed does not matter. We are after quality so we don't mind waiting for long renders.

    Can anybody help us please?

    Thanks in advance!
Working...
