  • Vray camera STmap

    hiya

Just wondering if there is an different step required for using the physical camera and an stmap to drive distortion than in maya? I hooked up the same exr that works with maya into the stmap pipe in nuke with the same camera and all of the same physical camera settings ( or any settings for that matter) and it just goes black. Quadratic and cubic work but as soon as the texture slot is filled it just goes black.

Was there a version in the nightlies that did work or has this not been functional yet?

It's pretty good... So far its worked better than in 3.0. I mostly used proxy's but I might start using scenes more now.

I hope stmaps are functional soon... I have a show right now with 5X overscan un/redistorted the old fashion way. Its a real pain. Rendering distorted at resolution in Nuke with our stmaps would be so much better.

You can also cach nuke partical ( with geo partical said) to rhe Vray scen with the translator and play it back with the Vrscene node. I love that function

Yes... I forgot to mention it, but the fine Chaos folks looked at it for us last week. It's been working perfectly!
                Great support as always!
