How to set up mapping texture coordinates to "Object" (with nodes)?

  • How to set up mapping texture coordinates to "Object" (with nodes)?

    I have no success so far ( I can't find the right node for choosing the object to be used as projecting one).
    Please help

    Mapping > Object
    Textures > Image file texture, has mapping settings also.

      If you want to have different objects with the same texture size, I recomend this method:

            So what is the purpose of the "Object" mapping mode? I figured that if I used Object mapping mode and specified the reference object, that everything using a specific material would be mapped according to the object space of the reference object, but that isn't what is happening. As far as mapping to each Object's location, rotation and scale, "Projection" mode already seems to do that when Object Space is enabled. I am a bit confused.
