  • d3d12.dll is missing - program can't start

    Hi there

I assume my graphics card (Quadro K4000) can't handle Vantage? It only supports DirectX version 11?

DirectX 12 is part of Windows 10. Are you on an older version of Windows? You can see the requirements here: https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...m+Requirements

Oh yes, I'm still on Windows 7 - I suppose I just can't download that specific dll somewhere? It's never as easy as that, right?!

Nope, sorry. Vantage works on Windows 10 only.

Even if you had Win10 Philip, you're not going to get much out of that GPU, it's a bit old and only 3GB ram

Yeah I should have clarified - if you're considering upgrading, you'd need to upgrade the GPU as well. You need an RTX series card. (Technically it would also run on the Pascal generation, but it is below our minimum requirements).

A K4000 is the Kepler generation of GPU - which is now over 6.5 years old.
This generation of card is not supported by Vantage, nor is it supported with V-Ray GPU.

                Kind regards,
