  • The rendering is different from the screen

    Hi,
just a little test of Vantage 1.8.2 with a .vrscene from V-Ray 6 for Sketchup.

Why such a difference between the final render (too dark) and the Vantage view.

I'm new to Vantage, maybe I'm not doing it right.

    Thank you.

    Hi DCHA34,

Have you enabled the Auto-exposure in Vantage or have color correction made in the VFB(color correction layers are not supported from vrscenes in Vantage)?

    Best regards,
    Alexander

I forgot to mention: the file on the left is the Vantage rendering, not the V-Ray one.

And yes, AutoExposure is enabled in Vantage.

And Filmic Tonemap AMPAS is also activated with default settings.

Is it enabled for both viewport and checked in the Render setup dialog? https://drive.google.com/uc?id=1p2ff...aPQ-YAVNLHttP1

I think the differences in the render resolutions (viewport and offline) is what is causing the brightness difference when using the Auto exposure. Can you set the viewport/camera resolution to be the same as the final render resolution(or vise versa) and see if the issue persists? We will investigate it as well.

            Best regards,
            Alexander

You are right, the problem is the difference in resolution.
              My screen is a 2K :
              - rendered in 4k = problem
              - rendered in 2K = identical image

You'll have to get your hands in the code and fix it.

We fixed the issue, but 1.8.3 is already released, so the fix will be added to the next update.
