What really is different (in my humble opinion) in Naiad and other particle based simulators, is the way they deal greatly this net like patterns in splashes where the edges starts to break apart. Its just so natural look. despite that, I think its just about the war of features. Phoenix has already few very good ones compared to the others, and dudes like me eager all the time more and more and more (ocean wave algorithm, grid clustering, rigid bodys bla bla bla D).

Used a really viscous liquid with particle drag, then just rendered just the particles with foam shader.
I was freelancing for a company called wicked pixels at the time i will get hold of them, I'm sure they wont mind.Gavin Jeoffreys

And yes congrat Raven! Very nice commercial! I love the shot at 00:03.
One thing I would love to see in PhoenixFD is to ba ab;e to simulate snow like in Frozen. SOmeone also did something similar with ICE. A technique called Material point method.

And the lava stuff in Naiad is amazing.
