Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone has had any success exporting the Phoenix .aur files to Houdini, maybe via openVDB? I'd like to sim in Phoenix then manipulate in Houdini.

Thanks for the reply guys. Stokes not an option as we're a Maya house and don't have stoke available. Particles is a possibility though... I feel like something will probably be lost in the translation, but its certainly worth a try..! Truth be told I really like the speed and quality of fire I can get out of Phoenix, but Maya's very limited in its ability manipulate volumes once they are cached. I was hoping there was an easy way to crossover as needed. Oh well, put this down as a request to support VDB export for Phoenix..!

Hello,
Do you really mean particles or are you referring to the grid, because VDB supports only grid content. If you have particles like foam, splash, FLIP liquid etc. you can export them to Krakatoa-style PRT files and find a PRT importer for Houdini. Otherwise, if you mean grid, such as smoke, temperature and oldschool liquid - still not implemented.Svetlin Nikolov, Ex Phoenix team lead
