Well, the idea is to start your simulator without having to select it and go to Modify. If you have many simulators, a list has to pop up so you can select which sim to run. Pause and stop should affect a running simulation. Still no greying out of buttons, etc, but the above should be working in today's nightly...

Ah cool.. well I'm getting no response from it. Using a scene which was originally made with a build from 2 days ago. Also I use the 2015 vray 2.4 build with Max 2016 if that has anything to do with it

Yup, it's a bit naughty to install 2015 for 2016.. do you do the same with V-Ray too? Anyway, I reproduced the issue here using a canonical install, so no prob

Well I never used the 2016 version as there isn't one listed for vray 2.4 :P Will the vray 3 version work? Yep I do the same with vray aswell as there isn't a 2016 vray 2 version for that either, last time I checked anyway.

I've tried to convince the boss to upgrade, not working so far

Yup, there's no V-Ray 2.4 version of Phoenix for max 2016 because there's no V-Ray 2.4/2.5 for max 2016. The 3 version won't work with V-Ray 2.4, so you really have to do the install hack.

Got the bug too - usually the first time you run max after you install Phoenix everything will be fine, but the second time and so on max will decide to load Phoenix after its toolbar, so the toolbar will remain orphaned and useless. The fix will miss out tomorrow's nightly unfortunately, but will be there for Friday...
