  • Copying/Resizing simulations

    Hey there,

There is currently no way you could simply resize Phoenix Sim, right?
Because I want to use several copies of the emitter object including the sim and scatter that through a scene. Would be great if there was a way I could randomize the size of it too, kind of how its possible to do with proxies, without having to resimulate the sim for the different sized emitter object.

you could load them into volume grids?
they dont instance but but work well enough if you can get the look the same of the phoenix sim

Yes, you can copy and resize the sim after the simulation. From the Input panel just load the same caches to the copies. Also, you can add different modifiers to the simulator.

think of grid as 3d bitmaps sequences, you load the sequence "rendered" by PHX in a VrayVolumeGrid, then you can copy, move, rotate and scale the node containing the "rendered" sequence and even offset the reading of the sequence in time...
