  • Okay, looks good enough I think, can you show us the settings in the Dynamics rollout as well? Also can we see it in motion?

As a start I would suggest, reducing the size of the grid on the Y-axis by half and turning off the foam, splashes and mist so that you can iterate faster. Then if you think that the speed, model and animation are right, you can try to adjust the motion velocity option of the boat from the Phoenix properties menu or from the Phoenix property lister. If you increase it the boat will push the liquid more, while if you decrease it will push less. Then if your liquid particles are spreading too fast and look grainy maybe you need to dial down the motion velocity a bit or increase the simulation steps in the Dynamics rollout of the simulator, note that more steps will increase the sim time.

I would add to this: I would rather keep the splashes as they affect the liquid, unless you are using "affect liquid" =0. The shape of the liquid on the sides can be VERY different if you use splashes or not. (my 2 cents)

      • Here's the dynamics roll out screen shot. I'm not sure what seeing in motion means. This boat is running 50 knots.

and now I'm going to local marina to help my friend with his real life boat. So I'm out of office for a while.

        • I meant can we see the animation so that we can see how the boat moves on your side and how the liquid reacts?

The settings in the Dynamics look good, 10 steps might be too much for this shot but let's see how the animation looks.
