Hi vittorio.p, I have also the same problem about not simmetric, but the appeareance of your simulation looks more accurate than mine, would be possible to post the parameters you are using?
    Congrats for the cool result,

    Kind regards

      Hello,

Is it possible to send us the scene again as it got lost along the way?

      Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hello Virtex, thank for the appreciation, we are working hard to obtain good result. Soon I will post some final rendering to show you where we are.
Unfortunately I can't share all the parameter setting for commercial reason, we spent long time testing for different shipyard, in the first post you will find my base setting, following the discussion you will set your own step by step.

Sorry for that, Hope you understood.

        kind reguards
        cheers!

I do not remember exactly which file I sent you fiew weeks ago, we did many other test, I'll send to the support the lastest we did, where you'll see there are mostly the same artifact.

          thanks for the support.

Hi everyone, Long time without posting anything.

we started working again on ocean simulation with the last nightlies version of phoenix.

I'm struggling to solve a issue in simulation, i'm trying to acieve a more natural result in the wave the yacht create.
I don't know how to control it, in a previous version ( look at my first post image here) it was much better then this, is that something concerning fluid dynamics, or foam or spalshes?

I attached some image of my current simulation and some reference image to understand where I have to go.(green = foam, Yellow =splash, red=mist)

The current hull in simulation it's the same you see in real photos.

anyone has solution or suggestion to it?

              Hey,

Can you reattach your images? There is nothing in the post.

              Thanks,

Can you show us the Phoenix settings as well?

                  Thank you,

You can send it to support@chaosgroup.com . Meanwhile you can check the Ship example scene here - https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...Shipintheocean

Thanks for the suggestion, That tutorial is where I started more then a years ago, I will have a look at it to waiting for a suggestion after you have seen the file I sent you.

                        Cheers

Yup, please check the example scene - to me it seems like the waves at the front in the example scene have the shape you like. So what it comes down to is figuring what are the differences between your scene and the example. Probably the ship speed is different and most likely the scene scale as well. If set yous scale and ship speed onto the example scene, will the waves change shape into what you have in your scene? If they will remain more turbulent, then maybe it's some of the liquid or foam settings, so you need to check which settings differ, equalize them and see the result.

This is the process you should follow

                          Cheers!

Thanks for suggestion, I'm currently trying to use the setting of the example, and there are some difference in setting, first of all the ship in example it's 3 time bigger then mine, it's more then 160m, and mine it's like 60m, I'm scaling the grid size and adapting the hull at your current speed. (will see)

I have another question, I saw in the tutorial that ocean displacement it's activated during simulation, does this influence the liquid in simulation or it's better to turn it off?

The displacement is applied during render time so it won't have effect during the simulation.

Ok thanks. it's as I was thinking, keep trying and see what happens.

I let you know the result.

                                Cheers
