  • Suggestions on how to make a proper shockwave over water?

    Hello Everyone,

I'm new to Phoenix, love the product but running into some simulation challenges.

I'm trying to simulate the shockwave of a big battleship gun firing. It creates a quick shockwave as the gasses dissipate.

I tried using an animated sphere to deform the ocean, but it creates a heavy suction effect which I don't want so big. Is there a better way to achieve this effect or a few settings that you would recommend?

    Thank you in advance.

Probably a quick blast of particles that die after one frame used as a velocity only source?

Thank you, I will give that a try.

Alternatively, if you want to use the sphere approach, try this:
        - Set the sphere as non-solid from its right click Phoenix properties
        - attach a source to it and disable all channels
        - enable Motion Velocity
        - regulate the multiplier - this will be the effect of the scaling sphere over the fluid

        Hope this helps

Thank you that was helpful, just the trick I was looking for.

          Cheers!
