It repeats the same error 33 times?

      Hi spencerrayfitch

I cannot reproduce this on my 2x 3090s, could you please try with my shaderball scene here
      Does it crash from you?

      What about the Benchmark tool?
Error 700 could be about many things, including drivers or hardware issues

Are you on the latest recommended driver 512.59?
      Do you have NVlink enabled?

Switching from RTX to CUDA (hybrid or C++/CPU device only) can cause crashes occasionally. If you switch engines, switch the engine to the desired one, save the scene and exit MAX. If this is the cause, restarting MAX is supposed to resolve this crash until we hotfix it.

Thank you for the comments. I will investigate these fixes this morning.

I want to note that my other scenes with far more geo and textures etc render fine.

No NVLink, and ill check driver.

So I did this and it has seemed to resolve the issue at least for now.

I think I have found the issue.

I was working on another computer yesterday, and some of the modeling I did had a varied version of the chamfer modifier. I was getting a warning error in my home version of 3ds max and i kinda ignored it. Since it kept popping up, i decided to collapse all of them and run a "Missing Plugin" script. So far testing has seemed successful.

Same issue happening.. Only way to fix it is to switch it to cuda, back to rtx, save the scene then close and reopen.

Error is getting too cumbersome to work with on this project. Having to revert back to 2022 and vray 5 - Hope this gets resolved.Seems like this is stemming from the latest build as i didnt have any issues 2 weeks ago.

                      Thanks.

Haven't had a problem since I reverted back. The scene has only gotten more complex also.

We are looking into this now, if you swap engines in V-Ray 5 you might crash as well. It is more frequent if you use bucket mode
