Chaos Group to reveal V-Ray 1.5 at SIGGRAPH 2006, Boston

Believe it people. Just picked up the package from Vlado and Peter yesterday here at the show. I was so stunned finally meeting the guys and even more stunned actually receiving 1.5 that I didn't know what to say other than 'thanks, nice to meet you'.

Vlado, Peter, look out, I'm going to come around today and take a picture of you both so the boys back in the office can see what the creaters of VRay look like.

Yes I also want to know when we can expect shipment of the dongles. I didn't get a shipping cost estimate or see any shipping options or a place to enter my CC card info to pay for the shipping. I guess Chaosgroup keeps our billing info on file?
Also when exactly can we download the upgrade. All I know is sometime after sigggraph.

We are trying to get a build in the download section sometime next week; it was supposed to be ready for the show, but we had those problems with the server, so it had to be delayed.

We will begin shipping the dongles shortly after we get back home. If any additional communication is required, we will contact you at the email address or phone number you provided on the dongle request form.

We will not charge anyone's credit card since we don't keep any billing information - this is the job of the company that processes the online payments (e.g. Regsoft). We will contact you with information about the shipping costs and how to pay for these.

Lame Question

Hi all... I'm trying to read throught the thread and can't figure out something. I have a single license in my studio, but use up to 18 machines for network rendering. My animatics director and I are in a huge dispute on how the dongle works. Do I need a dongle for each one of those nodes or does the dongle only need to be installed on the network manager?

Please don't laugh at me ... I just write the checks around here none to myself unfortunately

For Backburner rendering you dont need additional licenses. For the manager neither, only the workstation that is used to create, edit and submit scenes needs a dongle. For DR you get 10 nodes with every workstation license you got.
