Thanks for the heads-up! I'm intrigued to install it... I really just want to know if Nitrous viewport background image resolution issues have been fixed, and hoping nothing major has been broken. 2013 is a complete mess, for me, so I think I'm just going to take the plunge....

I would'nt bothering even downloading, let alone installing. The viewport is slower than in 2012, let alone 2013!! And thats just the first thing I tried.

A 45 million poly tree scene, instanced geometry, in 2012 nitrous is 30 fps, and the new nitrous in 2014 is about 10/12 fps using a 580 gtx card.

I can conclude that after running through their new features, none of them are worth £3,500!!!!

I took the plunge and installed it at home. V happy so far after a quick test. Nitrous textures are FIXED! Safe Frames are also fixed. Finally. Performance I have no idea at all - need to test it at my studio. So far, so good.

There was a small problem with the V-Ray light lister; if you go to our web site and re-download the V-Ray installation for 3ds Max 2013, it will be fine.

                Best regards,
                Vlado

                    <shrug> works fine for me.

Can you post a screengrab of the errors?

                    Best regards,

I'll see what happens on my main workstation at work. I think my installation at home on my laptop is having issues because of the very old graphics chip and driver.

Grrr will fix it (and perhaps some heads will roll), but in the meantime, just drop the following file in "c:\program files\autodesk\3ds max 2014\scripts\startup"

                          Best regards,
