I told her that she needed to set her expectations on what could be 100% accurate. I used the Forest Pro straw, scaling up to 150% and running it through AI using a mask; she still wasn't happy. She said more fluffy! How would fluffier straw make an image better? I don't know.

Chaos Scatter should be able to do this easily. Just model one of the straws and use an array modifier in 3dsmax to create a bundle of them. Then scatter to your hearts content. I use this technique for microscopic fabric fibers and it works quite good.
Edit: I also use Tyflow in most projects, but I don't think it can handle as many instances needed to make that "fluff" work well. Scatter can handle billions.Last edited by LeePuznowski; 19-09-2024, 04:49 AM.
